Introduction
DocuForge ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our document management platform and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials. If you sign up through a third-party provider (e.g., Google), we receive your name and email from that provider.
User Content
We store documents, folders, and other content you create within the Service. This content is yours — we do not use it for advertising, training models, or any purpose other than providing and improving the Service.
Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, timestamps, device type, browser type, and IP address. This data helps us improve performance and diagnose issues.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or bank account details on our servers. We retain your Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your account.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Process transactions and manage your subscription
- Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, billing receipts)
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Service
- Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve reliability and user experience
- Detect, prevent, and address security incidents and fraud
Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: trusted third parties that help us operate the Service (e.g., Supabase for database hosting, Stripe for payments). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Legal requirements: if required by law, regulation, or legal process, we may disclose your information to comply with applicable obligations.
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, row-level security policies on all database tables, and role-based access controls. While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable precautions to safeguard your information.
Data Retention
We retain your account information and user content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data and content within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, resolving disputes).
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@docuforge.io.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to authenticate your session and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but some features of the Service may not function properly.
Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending you a notification.
